New System

New System

When you hire a consultant, you look for a high degree of expertise, and at M-Tek, we offer just that. Our fixed-rate, guaranteed consulting plan gives you everything you need. We take you step-by-step through the entire process.

Our services include a gap assessment, writing procedures, training employees, helping with the selection of UKAS accredited assessment bodies and assisting with the implementation. We will even be with you to assist during the assessment.

This is a typical timeline. You can find out more about a section by clicking on it.

Gap Assessment

During the first part of the project, our consultant conducts a complete gap assessment. The consultant will observe the operations of your company, interview key employees and observe operations in order to get a complete picture of your compliance status. The consultant will use the information to write a comprehensive initial report telling you where you company complies with the standard and where it does not. The consultant will also use the information to write any procedures that are required.

Document the system

As part of our service, consultants document the management system for your company. This documentation will be the MINIMUM amount required to meet the requirements of the standard and to meet the needs of your company. Our experience allows us to write procedures that are compliant but not bureaucratic. The procedures outline your business in a clear and concise manner.

By allowing us to write your procedures you avoid the hassle of trying to write them yourself. You also avoid the pitfalls that people commonly encounter when trying to write procedures themselves. Often, fear of failure will cause people to write procedures that are more detailed, inflexible and bureaucratic than is necessary. Because we’ve assisted with the registration of many companies, we know how to write procedures that are lean and efficient.

Training

Training is an important part of implementing a successful project. M-Tek provides awareness and internal audit training by lead assessor trained consultants. Certificates are issued to all trained auditors.

Select the Assessment Body

Having assisted many companies to gain certification with several different assessment bodies, we have plenty of experience when it comes to working with auditors. Over the years, we have worked with many of the assessment bodies. In many cases your consultant will know the individual assessor conducting the audit. We can assist you in the selection of the registrars, help you interpret their quotes and proposals and ensure you get the service you need at the price you want.

Implementation

Many companies struggle with the implementation of their quality system. At M-Tek we know the pitfalls that companies commonly find. We will help you avoid these pitfalls. Our consultants are available during your implementation phase to answer questions, provide tools and to assist you in your implementation.

Pre-assessment

Included in our service is a complete pre-assessment. An expert M-Tek consultant will conduct a full pre-assessment of your company against the requirements of the standard in order to ensure that you are ready for assessment.

The pre-assessment is like an insurance policy against failure. The consultant will give you a written report that points out any places were your system is weak or noncompliant. This allows you to fix the system and to go into your assessment with confidence.

On-Site Coach

On site coach

Increasingly our clients have approached us with specific needs to help them with Quality and Environmental systems. To meet this need M-Tek UK can provide on-site coaching. On–site coaching is designed to target specific areas of your company’s systems, to solve problems and to move the management systems forward to meet the required standard and improve your business.

M-Tek offers training on your site for Management System requirements and internal audits.

Courses are tailored to suit the specific needs of clients and the following key subjects are available:

  • Management Overview of ISO 9001:2015 (half day)

These courses can be integrated into consultancy projects.

Our training is delivered using a combination of tutor presentations, discussions, workshops, and practical exercises all supported with course notes.

System Maintenance

System Maintenance

In today’s hectic environment, some companies are finding it necessary to outsource the maintenance of their Quality or Environmental Management System. Indeed, in many cases this outsourcing can be a much more economical option than using their own staff.

M-Tek consultants can provide the necessary expertise to help businesses keep their quality management system running smoothly. For either a fixed annual fee or on an as-used basis, the maintenance program can include:

  • Internal auditing
  • Facilitating Management Reviews
  • Non-conformance management
  • Supply the required records for your next surveillance audit
  • Attending surveillance assessments
  • Supplier audits
  • Staff training

Internal Audits

Internal Audits

Reduce the true overall cost of managing an Internal Audit Program (training cost due to auditor turnover, undetected quality problems due to unfocused auditors, etc.) by outsourcing

  • Remove the frustration of managing the internal audit process.
  • Obtain complete objectivity.
  • Stay abreast of changing requirements. Our auditors are at the forefront of any changes to the standards.
  • Receive consulting services as needed from our auditors during your internal audits.
  • Our auditors are free to clearly state a problem to management where it may otherwise be difficult for an employee to do so.
  • Keep your system effective through the consistent implementation of systematic internal audits.

Integrated Systems

What is an Integrated Management System (IMS)?
Discreet management systems for Quality, Environmental or Health and Safety are often inefficient. This is particularly true where there is duplication or conflict of interest. Therefore, more integrated systems can be developed and implemented enabling companies to combine existing business practices within a common framework, increasing efficiency and preventing unnecessary bureaucracy.

An Integrated Management System (IMS) includes the requirements of a number of management system standards (i.e. Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, HSEQ) that are implemented into one cohesive management system, incorporating common elements while dealing with differing and additional requirements through this generic approach. Recent revision to the standards have been designed to make this integration easier.

These common ‘Top Level’ elements of each of the standards include:

  • Leadership
  • Planning
  • Support
  • Operation
  • Performance Evaluation
  • Improvement

Any organisation may find Integrated Management Systems more beneficial than single management systems for a number of different reasons, which may include the following:

  • Avoiding duplication of documentation relating to procedures and other management system records
  • Assisting in keeping system documentation to a minimum
  • Ensuring best practice and lessons learned are shared across the different disciplines
  • Only one set of internal audits needs to be undertaken
  • Only one management review is required
  • Policy and objectives setting can be managed as a single activity
  • A consistent framework for staff training
  • A single framework for continuous improvement of processes and performance.

How is it done?
M-Tek can design and implement Integrated Management Systems to suit your requirements. These can be a combination of two or more recognised systems such as ISO 9001:2015 (Quality), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental), or ISO 45001:2018 (Health and Safety).

Integrated Management Systems (IMS)

M-Tek UK Ltd are an independent business improvement consultancy based in Scotland but operating throughout the world. We specialize in providing Management Systems to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018. These can be a stand-alone system to meet the requirements of one standard, or an Integrated Management System (IMS) that combines the requirements of more than ones standard. As well as meeting the requirements of the applicable standard, we firmly believe that the prime requirement is to implement systems that improve the performance of YOUR business.

We do not supply ‘standard’ solutions. Our approach is that we cannot advise on improvements to your business unless we understand how it currently operates and we have a complete appreciation of the problems and issues that you face.

We are able to provide assistance and advice in a wide range of situations (for industry sector experience go to the About us section), and have taken more than 100 organizations through to certification over the last 15 years.

Have you heard that getting ISO 9001 is a ‘lot of work’ or ‘really difficult’? If so, forget what you’ve heard! Yes, it can be hard, but it definitely doesn’t have to be.

M-Tek UK Ltd can help you develop a Quality Management System (QMS) that will obtain ISO 9001 certification, while also being practical, sensible & simple.

We don’t set up systems with huge, wordy quality manuals and masses of bureaucracy and forms. We can’t stand them and we bet you can’t either!

We deliver a system that works for you not just today, but next week, next month and next year. Not a system that only the consultant understands! If you already have a horrible system or one that’s too complex, we can help you streamline and simplify it.

We find that the majority of successful companies today already have systems in place to control many of their core processes. In today’s competitive environment, if you don’t have this you probably won’t survive. Thus the implementation of a Quality Management System does not mean huge changes in practice. In addition to gaining the prestigious ISO 9001 certification, a good system does deliver a method of measuring and improving the performance of the organization.

The bottom line is more business and increased profits !
